Catherine Chandler é uma detetive inteligente e focada. Na adolescência, a policial testemunhou o assassinato de sua mãe, vítima de dois homens armados. Ninguém acreditou nela, mas Catherine sabe que não foi um animal que atacou os assassinos, mas sim, um humano.

Anos depois, Catherine é uma mulher forte, confiante e capaz de resolver crimes juntamente a sua parceira de trabalho, Tess. Enquanto investigam uma morte, Catherine descobre uma pista que a leva ao doutor Vincent Keller, dado como morto durante a guerra do Afeganistão, em 2002.

Ela descobre que Keller foi quem a salvou no passado. Entretanto, Vincent esconde um segredo, algo que o fez ficar longe da sociedade por 10 anos: quando está com raiva, ele se torna uma fera assustadora, incapaz de controlar sua força e sentidos aguçados.

Catherine concorda em proteger seu segredo e identidade, pedindo que ele conte mais sobre o que aconteceu com sua mãe. Agora, ambos fazem parte de uma relação complexa e perigosa.

Detective Catherine Chandler is a smart, no-nonsense homicide detective. When she was a teenager, she witnessed the murder of her mother at the hands of two gunmen and herself was saved by someone – or something. Years have passed and while investigating a murder, Catherine discovers a clue that leads her to Vincent Keller, who was reportedly killed in 2002.

Catherine learns that Vincent is actually still alive and that it was he who saved her many years before. For mysterious reasons that have forced him to live outside of traditional society, Vincent has been in hiding for the past 10 years to guard his secret – when he is enraged, he becomes a terrifying beast, unable to control his super-strength and heightened senses.
